We get paid for a certain number of miles, which is usually less than we actually drive by 5-15%.
Taking a longer way would not really make sense unless it did the trip in less time.

Makes sense. I use to get paid odometer miles so the long way made more sense. That's why I was saying just do what they want.

my 2 cents worth on fueling - I've skipped several fuel stops then just asked for fuel when I need it. So far, no issues.

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.

I do the same thing quite often.
Just make sure you have an approved fuel stop where you will want it.

One time I had to get fuel, but there was no place in the Swift network near enough. I had to get an advance for the money.
I got the receipt to scan in, but didn't read it closely enough. It said I had purchased $125 dollars worth of unleaded gas.
Since you can't power a truck with unleaded gas, I never got reimbursed for it. I ate the cost.
So, also, READ that receipt when they hand it to you!

The carrier cannot account for the IFTA taxes with gasoline in diesel powered equipment, that's why they would not reimburse.
