well when i got done with orientation they said "u will be leaving today"....that was thursday....well then my mentor calls ...."we will be leaving monday morning".....well its tuesday and still no phone call....i dont have the patience for liars and swift has started out lying...i am on the phone with KLLM as i type this...
To be fair, Swift didn't 'lie', the mentor might have changed their mind about leaving 'today'. Or some other problem like a truck breakdown, or maybe he spilled his 2 gallon jug full of pee all over the truck and needs to steam clean it out, sometimes you have to thankgod for unanswered prayers lol.
Like Scottie said, it was not Swift that Lied. It was something that came up with a Mentor. Does not Swift also deserve a courtesy call, and maybe they just might know what might have happened. If you think that Swift lied, wait until you go with KLLM. Look at some of the threads on here that talk about them. And if you do not have patience for liars, you are not going to make it out here, like when you get a load, arrive only to find out that not ready and you have to sit for hours, or told that it will not be ready until the next day. Are you then going to say that KLLM lied to you, when it could have been a shipper or receiver that changed their plans and did not bother to tell the company. that happens alot out here.
Not to harp on you, but being flexible... VERY FLEXIBLE -- especially the first few months is what I expect... this is why I am taking so freaking long to apply as I pay my single credit card off, put some money in the bank, fix my teeth and have nothing else to stress about but learning how to drive and how to make the most money in a week. Perhaps, you want to research this industry a bit more. There is a KLLM thread in this site too. Not the worse company if you live within their region -- Swift drivers seem to be less frustrated all in all and they have more resources -- for what I read... I repeat-- according to what I have researched. Anyway, try to be a happy driver -- someones life might be on the balance
I have read where people sometimes end up waiting a week or more to go out with a mentor. You have to remember that training new drivers is NOT the business Swift is in, it's moving freight. Sometimes it pays to step back and look at the big picture.
well i finally got ahold of my mentor....he was still at home...he just didnt bother to call or answer my call....but anyway i leave out in the morning on a texas run....he didnt say what part of texas....i hope its on the el paso side so i can get some hours knocked out....i know i let the waiting get to me but i have been out of work since october and i am ready to work...i got a wife and 6 kids to feed
