Very serious... If I can get him on the phone he is very helpful but as for responding to QC, not so much. I am just trying to get back to Memphis without killing anyone at this point. I will step back during home time and start fresh after. Everything was going smooth until I got to AZ so maybe it will smooth out if I can ever get out of here.

Unfortunately Swift is turning out to be everything it was cracked up to be!!! Maybe the new year will bring a fresh start. If not I will have to find some way to mount a punching bag in The PornStar!!!

Have you gone "over his head" and spoken to the Fleet Manager? I am sure the FM would like to know that your DM is not responding to your QC messages.

I have my pet bonsai orange tree that produces 1 orange a year-- what Cali and Flori don't know, don't hurt 'em. I get lonely out here on the big road that's why I also have my pet Med Flies in an old mayonaisse jar-- hey I'm missing one....
I used to think the same thing-- I'm too old to suffer like that. But you know what, it only takes a couple of days of true suffering in 104 heat to reacclimate your body and get used to it. When you keep your idle percentage down your DM will return your phone calls more often and respond to your QC messages quicker because it shows you are 'trying'.
Global Heating is for reals. You see all the snow and ice and 10 inches of rain in California? That's because it's summertime down below the equator and the sea is boiling sending up steam into the atmosphere causing all the rain and snow up here. -
I'm with you Buckeye....
You hit it right on the money...
It's a VERY bad deal thats goin on !!! -
Buckeye...you may find trucking to be more than just driving...there are plenty of ...uncomfortable situations out on the road...mann up is a very apt phrase for the things you are gonna be expected to put up with...the highway is a hard road.

I don't think I stated nor gave the impression that trucking was "just driving." I am well aware that working as a driver involves a whole lot more than having my hands on a steering wheel. I do have relatives that have - and do - drive trucks. I have listened to their OTR tales, so I am not going into this completely oblivious to the BS. In fact, I am surprised that I finally have made the decision to actually go for it. When asked before, I always said "no way in he** will I ever drive a truck!"
Man up is an overused cliche'. Just like everyone else, I'm going to eat some crap sandwiches along the way, but I also know there will be limits of how many of those sandwiches I will gladly consume, before I start resisting and sticking up for myself. I don't have to drive a truck for a living. I want (some say I'm crazy) to. I am taking my decision seriously, but I have my current career to fall back on if driving for whatever reason, "chews me up and spits me out." I am hoping it won't come to that. -
Even when I didn't have much time here I told the planners I refused to go to certain areas. Still do.
I have rejected 2 loads in the last few hours going to Louisiana. They know I am to be home Christmas eve. Everytime your hometime comes up you get great load offerings. -
My cousin from the great thriving SE Ohio town of Barnesville...yes, I said Barnesville...told me that when he wasn't getting miles, he would manipulate his dispatcher by telling them "hey, I want to go home on........." Next, thing he knew....BAM.... He would start getting more and longer runs. Hmmmmm...that will be something to remember for later?

I idle my truck where and when I want, I dare a cop to give me a ticket for it, I'd glady go to jail in exchange for shuving that ticket up is #####!
