All you need is a Conestoga or a curtain van. I had a Central Oregon driver tell me that they are going to all Conestoga's to help with tarping time on elogs.

I wish I could tarp more often, I could use the exercise.

Invest in a good set of earbud headphones and a playlist of about 30 songs that you know you'll listen to all the way through.(that way you don't stop and change the song and break your rhythm). I hated tarping until I started doing it this way. Now...when I finish...I feel justified for all the fat kid food I ate the last few days and I'm in a pretty good mood.

We load a bunch of really hard loads to tarp. It's mostly manufacturing equipment with stuff poking out and sharp edges everywhere. Some stuff you have to more or less tarp twice, once with padding and then again with the tarp.

What's really fun is to throw the tarp over, only to realize your padding has slid out from under the tarp in the process. Then it's either pull the tarp back off and start over or try to climb under the tarp and stuff the padding back under there.

What gets me is most of the stuff we deal with is old, nasty machinery. More times than not, when you un-tarp and unload, they will wash the machine. I'll never understand why they insist you tarp because the piece CANNOT get wet and then the first thing they do when you unload is hose it down.
