What do you do if you turn onto a road that has a truck restriction ?(eg. no trucks over 20 feet)
I was driving and got lost, took a turn off a main road and saw a sign that said no trucks allowed. I couldn’t back up or turn around and ended up going through neighborhoods and several other restricted roads.
What are you supposed to do in a situation like that?

Keep going till you find away out or off the no truck roads. Hope their is no bridges to worry about. Hope the police don't see you.

If you're in a residential neighborhood, probably best to keep going until you find a 4 way intersection wide enough for you to turn left or right onto. Make the turn, then back up straight through the intersection, and turn back the way you came. I've had to do it once in my driving career.
If things continue to get worse, you have no choice but to back all the way out. Whatever you do, don't attempt a U-turn in a tight spot. If all all else fails, call the local cops for an escort out. Yes you'll get a ticket, but you won't destroy anything trying to do it yourself.Lumper Humper, alds, beastr123 and 11 others Thank this. -

I keep driving. I delivered to beltsville MD a few weeks ago, and the road I turned onto had a 29 ton bridge, with the sign posted literally 2000 ft before the bridge and nothing before that. Oh and no place to turn around. The sign looked fairly new. I crossed it, I'm not binding up a spread axle trailer in the middle of a busy street because some municipality can't post signs correctly.
I will give you a tip (if you already do this then good) but compare your GPS route to an up to date truck atlas. It's saved me a lot of aggravation a few times and only takes a few minutesSavor the Flavor, Hammer166, Bean Jr. and 3 others Thank this.
