    the government makes you lie, they want history for 10 years. Most jobs don’t go back so long and by the quality of drivers now a day, let alone how they dress to work, it’s a waste.

    The govt makes employers ask the questions. Deciding someone is entitled to a good outcome, no matter what they do, causes them to lie. Having an excuse to lie is not the same as being forced to lie.

    Sorry but, no one can be forced to lie.

    @PaliAha --

    Two suggestions:

    • When I first started big rig driving....my situation was similar (but obviously not the same) as yours. I had a pretty shakey job history (no "regular" jobs for several years) -- but I had ALL of the relevant CDL endoresements. With that said -- Schneider hired me, when others would not. Submit an on-line application to them. If you get a chance at one of their "jet set" jobs -- you might well ought to take it.
    • Right now, as I write this...some carriers are trying to prep for spring, and the better freight conditions to come. I've noticed that some flatbed carriers are now aggressively looking for help. Thus, you might submit on-line applications to:
      • TMC
      • Roehl Transport
      • Melton Truck Lines
    Roehl does other freight types besides pure flatbed: dry van, reefer...& also conestoga loads. The conestaoga division is arguably their best experience for you -- if you can get in on it.

    Regardless of who hires you -- you will need to stay with them for a good while to build something of a solid working job history.

    Sounds like you made a lot of money before you went to prison, to travel the world for 15 years.
    Or is it 19 years, as you said in a later post?

    Now you want to be a trucker, got your CDL and a company won't hire you because you have not worked for nearly 20 years.
    After running an Asian massage parlor that was shady enough to land you in prison for, how long?
    Wow. Big surprise.

    Why do these types of threads just seem to be trolls doing their thing?

    Lav-25, Rideandrepair and 77fib77 Thank this.
