Yeah - see it all the time. Pulling doubles we're always looking for pull through parking, which is invariably always taken by drivers too lazy to select reverse and back her in a spot - or just "create" a spot closest to the truck stop entrance door.281ric Thanks this.

You go ahead there Super Trucker.

I don't think it's a spite thing, but a lazy thing. We've all seen people park where they shouldn't, when there are available spaces that require backing into. I swear some of these drivers consider backing as a last resort and would rather park in the fuel island or where they aren't supposed to, rather than back in.
Both drivers here were clearly at fault.Corporal_Clegg and 281ric Thank this. -
There's a PFJ in Indy that's very small and extremely tight. They had so many incidents like these that they have a roving guard enforcing the parking spots. Try to park outside the lines and he drives over and makes you move. I watched one angry trucker refuse to move and head into the sleeper berth. About 15 minutes later, the truck was lit up with red and blue lights. Probably ruined the guy's night. Awww...

And now the rest of the story...
yes, driver parked there. Was no other parking available and out of time on logs. Flatbed raked the side of the truck/trailer, then kept on going. Stevens driver jumped out of truck in his underwear and chased the flatbed, taking pictures.
Flatbed driver became angry, returned with a tire billy and began beating on the Stevens truck with the driver holed up inside calling 911.
Flatbed driver was arrested and charged with hit and run, vehicular assault and assault with a deadly weapon.Crazy_Aardvark and Dryver Thank this. -
Funny how we jump to conclusions and blame the "noob steering wheel holder" when a training company is involved, isn't it?Last edited: Sep 18, 2014

lesson #1. Please keep your fruit of the looms on while sleeping in your truck, you never know . . .
Question #1. Was it the camera or the naked driver chasing him that pissed him off? . .
Question #2. Is there a trigger in people's brains that makes them take a bad situation into a stupidly bad situation? . . -
Why yes. Yes there is. It's the Stoopid Gene. We all have it, but some of us choose to let it stay dormant...most of the time.

Not quite that exciting, the truth is, he lives about thirty minutes away. He parked his truck, caught a ride home. Before he could make it halfway home, a flat bed rakes his truck and he returns to evaluate the damage and exchange paperwork. Then gets back in the car and heads home, leaving the truck and blocking my exit from a designated spot... I called stevens that morning, they could not reach him, so they called a tow truck to take the vehicle away. Before the tow truck arrives I managed to escape my "designated spot" and move to a safer location. The tow truck arrives and hauls the vehicle away.......................
