I always try to aim my truck's hood to the east for my 10 hour breaks. Sometimes that means I might have to nose in to get what I want, I have to look at the situation too, are drivers going to be coming in later and blocking my backing exit?

Other times I might need to run a high idle regen so I nose in so as not to disturb the neighbors.

Sometimes the slope of the parking spot is such that if I back in my head will be lower than my feet in the sleeper so nose in so my head is higher.

I nosed in during my reefer days out of respect for my fellow drivers sleep.

Didn't say it was Swift's fault, some other truck cut short and pushed the Swift into another truck, sadly, two innocent trucks were damaged because someone else wasn't paying attention.

she's asking because of the three involved vehicles: you only mentioned SWIFT...who you said wasn't at fault. but by mentioning that company, n not the others, readers make an assumption that it's somehow the fault of the only one mentioned (because of the opinion of many being poor regarding swift).
guess the gist of what i'm saying is that mentioning one but not all leads people to think the worst.
just saying. not trying to stir the pot:biggrin_25519:

I appreciate that. But I would like to ask an honest question out of curiosity, not out of defensiveness. I would ask this question if the named and innocent truck had been Werner or Prime or Stevens or any other company we like to pick on.

Why is it important enough to identify and name the innocent "BFI" company rather than identify and name the at fault company?

Not saying it's not factual or it wasn't a memorable detail. Just asking because it appears the "BFI" company is named in order to say, "Look! They're in another crash." Again, it could be any large carrier name and the same question would occur to me.

I bet there are just as many drivers pissing between the drive tires and fuel tank as there are drivers that walk to the back of the truck to dump a piss bottle or relieve themselves.

At least there is grass behind the trailers and the urine will fertilize the grass. Whereas the piss on the pavement gets baked all day before it evaporates.

    I have a few questions?

For the "professional" drivers out there. :yes2557:

Just how much experience did you have when you got your license or were trucking on down the road?:biggrin_25514:

    Hasnt your "skill" further developed?:biggrin_2554:

Doesnt "skill" get honed by experience?:biggrin_2556:

Just where does YOUR skill go when YOU are having a bad day? :biggrin_25523: :biggrin_25525:

I'll expect ONLY "professional" answers please.:biggrin_25514:
