It's both my height and way I sleep problem. I have always slept on my stomach, which causes my feet to lay flat out. So at 6'5" plus my toes, I don't know what that equals, except, stress. The secret is to get a mattress that is a couple inches shorter, so my feet fit in the gap between the mattress and the wall.

Yeah I've done that ! It was a KW T800 day cab, not a very wide cab but it beat napping over the steering wheel, and it helps that I'm only 5'9" . It dose not however qualify for logging as sleeper berth !

You would have loved the old Pete I use to drive, not only did they have small cabs but a crawl in bunk.... It was like crawling into a casket !

Ah I can definitely see how that would be annoying. I'm only like 5'9" and I kinda sleep bent on my side so the length of the mattress doesn't bother me at all. I can understand your pain though. :(

I'm willing to bet he was all set up to go home with a nice two stop Wal Mart load. Upon arriving at the first stop he was told how much the unloading fee was. Returning to his truck, he promptly made a request on the quallcomm, which was ignored. He was amazed that Wal Mart unloaded in a timely manner and was looking forward to getting the second stop off and heading to the house and getting home at a nice early hour to start the weekend. Now he's unloaded and it's 1730 on a Friday and his DM went home for the weekend without giving him his authorization number to pay Wal Mart. About 1800 he calls "support" shift, they get nasty with him before finally sending him his PO. By this time Wal Mart wants him off the property and he's very late for his second stop. He arrives at the second stop only to be treated like a criminal and told that due to his tardiness he must have Knight reschedule. He retreats to a truckstop where the issue is forgotten by Knight until Monday morning. Yep maybe he can get home next weekend.

Which could potentially have been avoided by sending in the QC request for comcheck and then immediately calling as backup - even if he ended up on hold for a long time it would have been while they were unloading, and then he would have had the proper numbers by the time they were done!

    :D

Maybe he did and was told to hang on. 40 drivers per DM and some aren't that great with multi-tasking.

He should get three cell phones and call with all three at once to improve his chances at getting through.

Its been awhile since I updated. I see the thread hasn't died without me. lol

Anyway, the last three weeks I have been running up to my 34 hour reset. The last three weeks have been great as far as miles and quick turn around. I had another issue with a Walmart in Oklahoma, but my DM actually managed to get me another appointment number on the weekend. I pulled the last empty out of their which had a ....flat.

I am now finishing a 2350 mile load today.

I've been out here since middle of last month and plan on going home for a full week around the 21st. Gotta take care of winterizing the house before the cold sets in.

Off the subject, but does anyone on here know much about cars? I have a 1991 Mercury Cougar V-6 that once it warms up, has a lugging transmission. What I mean is, if I am traveling at say 65mph, take my foot off the accelerator, instead of coasting, it feels like a jake brake. Put my foot back on the accelerator and it pushes the other way?
