The 2nd gen may/may not still have the battery issue, but until true facts come out showing that these are 2nd gen phones, all one can do is wait.
ATT is holding sales pending the last few reports. A good move on their part.
Now one of the things that has not been taken into account is that the USB is a "C" type connector. You can buy "C" or USB cords that do not meet the USB standards. Refer back to the article that someone plugged in a USB cord and it toasted their laptop.
I use inductive charging or a USB-C from Bracketron to my laptop. Rarely have I used the supplied charger/USB C that came with my phone. This could be part of the issue in the way the battery is charged.
Who knows, but for now I am taking the latest reports with some doubts by what has been posted in various "underground" papers.
Now not just the Notes...

in store exchanges only. And probably not for a replacement.

I saw whichever report it was about the new phone that came out, I thought the Galaxy 7, and that it was causing fires. People were lined up to return them. Perhaps this was in Paris when they first came out.
A couple of years ago there have been other reports of phones catching fire while charging in the past, I think one was An Apple. It has never been said why they caught fire. ONe little girl had her Iphone under her pillow and it toasted it, luckily she wasn't hurt.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 3, an older model, it doesn't get that warm charging and have used chargers from Walmart when the original gave up the ghost. -
Samsung Notes are out of Production as of tonight. If this is true I would find something else to work with.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
It's true. ATT and TMO are no longer offering trade-ins or sales. Sprint and Verizon are still offering trade-ins but are back ordered with no replacements to be had. Verizon is undecided untill the results of investigation being done. As to the future of the model. Korea has suspended production and probably won't be resuming.
Looks like the note 7, the flagship model, will never be. And google is salivating on their new phone to take over sales. It's called the pixel. -
When the note 7 came out, I was otr and didn't have the chance to pick one up. Then the recalled. Then t mobile finally have them in stock recently, so I grab an uber and pick one up yesterday.
Then this happen
Lol, that's my luck but hey I guess I get $25 for trying.
Will I return it? Until it's official, for now I'm loving it. I been researching other phones, the pixel xl and the LG v20, but they don't even come close to the note 7. Maybe LG v20 but there screen is not up to par and pixel has a great software but there style...so blah.
If a phone had the note 7 amazing screen, pixel software and camera, with LG v20 body with removable battery, then I would jump on it. -

Yup, just saw that too. What a shame, but there's people out there who still have the first gen note and nothing has happen. Millions of phones and a handful is defected, does it make it all phones defected? Idk maybe it's a software issue, a virus made by Apple to sabotage samsung. That's my theory, now I just need my tinfoil hat
