Yes, you can. The company I worked for had multi-compartment liquid tankers. Those trailers were used when there are 2 or 3 customers on the same route.

And they always used company trucks and the OO always got the smooth bore tanks.

It's called bulkheads, but what's the likely hood of an O/O getting a load like that on a tank, compared to flat bed? That's all I was pointing outLast edited: Apr 11, 2016

Lol, try loading multiple products between the "baffles". This is getting a little silly.

Your question is just very broad..
Generally speaking a company driver pulling a tank will make more than a company driver pulling a flatbed.
As an IC/OO its completely up to your business ability, just because you pull a certain type of equipment doesn't guarantee success. I'm about to transition from company to IC pulling tankers. I know what my preferred lanes pay to the IC (all %) and what I'll need to gross to make it worth the risk of truck ownership. -
Am I missing something here or did the definition of ic change? If it still means independent carrier as I thought why would u be recieving a percentage for services rendered? Please enlighten me on how that works
-
Probably referring to IC leased on with a carrier, many pay by percentage of gross. Often around 66 percent for alot of tank outfits. Tough to make it as a 1 truck show on your own with tanks expecially if your pulling chemicals.
