I delivered to that Cargill last Friday.
You can get set up to haul for Bruce Oakley.
They buy a lot of fertilizer and it’s shipped and distributed to a lot of different places.
Tomorrow for instance I’m going to Hayti Mo to load to bring it back to my hometown.

    sampennington1 Thanks this.

I do container work. You need to lease on to a carrier. Shop around because there are a lot. Talk to the other drivers about how they like the company, how consistently they’re able to get chassis (there’s a shortage).

don’t worry about the chassis quality. TRAC has been switching to radial recaps. They’re fine, just check the tire pressure, some of the techs like to fill to 120. DCLI chassis are hit or miss. For future reference, chassis that start with TNPZ, EMCZ, MAEC, DCLZ are gonna be your most reliable. The best chassis to pick is OESZ, typically virgin radials and good brakes and lights. AMPZ will hit or miss.

tools, get yourself a 20 ton air jack, air impact, big pry bar, extra nuts, those wheel spacers. And get you a spare tire already on a wheel that’ll fit the chassis. If you get a blowout, swap it out with your personal tire then when you’re ready to drop it back off at the rail pull over somewhere before entering and swap back in the blown tire and wheel and take your set back. Saves you on paying for that road service.

pay will vary with the company. It’s a wide range, net anywhere from 1k to 5k a week all depending on loads and if you have no truck payments.

carry extra gladhands, sometimes the only trailer you can grab will break there or another driver will take it off to save that trailer for his buddy.
