I drive a bus for a major city in the U.S.
    My income per year is...

    Gross: 90k-95k (60 hours a week avg.)
    Net: 70k
    Live on: 30k ($2,500 a month)
    Save/Invest: 40k

Why I am looking at O/O. Is because I believe the potential to save and invest more then 40k a year exists. I was hoping for a little feed back from some old school O/O thank you.

You would be much better off finding a good paying job as a company driver instead of becoming an O/O. With no reason to come home to a family or a residence, you would be desirable as a company driver. My brother in law lives like that and has for the last several years. He's built quite a nest egg in that time. He plans on doing it for a couple more years and then buying a house. Too many obligations as an O/O, and you probably won't make as much money as a company driver with a good company. Most of us who are O/O's do it because we want to, not because we're making a lot of money doing it.

    This is a good job!
You must have benefits. Job security. You are not going to be better off financially...at least not too soon. It is not just about driving endurance. Besides OTR is mentally heavy, even if you can withstand prolonged solitude.
Technically, you can't run more than 70 hours per 8 days. You'll get stuck in places like Rawlins, WY and the only thing there to do is the get drunk.
If you decision is geared towards a financial gain, then stay where you are...honestly.
It is a different matter when you want to try something else to make life more interesting but financially it is not going to be any easier.

Go to the very first thread here and find your answers, that's why they pinned it there at the very beginning.
    Some numbers for new O/O

    Numbers?
    Minus 25k to plus 500k.
Most likely after a steep learning curve you will be lucky to clear 40-50 k.

remember trucks eat money, rates are down and your jumping into the deep end.
but there are lots of cheep repo trucks around so you can give one another try.
