He’s got 20 years to spend at a company. At the snail pace their trucks move. I calculate he could easily deliver 20 loads.

Just finished the interview for YRC the position is P&D and I would be driving more instead of dock work I also would be doing a lot of unloading for the customers also but waiting for the OD interview before I make my decision.

and I read all the replies and thank everyone for taking the time to do so and yes I am also leaning towards OD but can’t rule out YRC until I’ve heard both sides if that makes sense

    Radman Thanks this.

This is the LTL world not the regular trucking world. Generally the LTL’s doing well in profit tend to be the better companies. Call Dave Ramsey and ask if he would work for a failing company he’s the expert not me.

He will need tetanus booster shots for each of those loads.

If OD doesn't hire you then YRC is better than getting fitted for McDonald's drive thru headset.

I used to recommend YRC/Yellow as a foot in the door which they can be BUT say for instance you later want to try to get hired by OD. Depending on how they feel they might not like the fact that you were in the big U. Same goes with the other non U’s. My company hired former Union drivers. Just depends on how their feeling. Like I’ve read XPO and FedEx drivers trying to organize in the past at acouple of terminals. For sure if your a former Union driver they will likely throw your app in the garbage at those terminals. Just a thought like someone said every terminal is it’s own world on how they operate.

...and remember that nice guys finish last. The company making the most profit is the one screwing over its drivers the hardest. Pick the one that is barely scraping by and pray they don't get bought out soon. RIP abilene motors
