The company I used to drive for had there's set up like this; 1 mile or 5 mins..something like that. A traffic jam is a good example of this: you know, the ones where you stop and move a lot but not far. Anyway, if I moved more than a mile, it would put me on line 3 but, if it is not on line 3 for more than 4mins you can manually move yourself to a different line and the drive time will not be counted. Now, you would have to do this every time until you got out of the jam but, it can be done.
I also was at a shipper/receiver once that man, I swear I had to drive for 10miles just to drop and hook. I had to do the same thing, drive for 4 mins, than stop and put myself back on line 4 or 1 and wait 4 mins than do it again...LOL lot of crap but it works. -
Yup there are ways you can get around it by just stopping then starting back up again before the 7/10. The Elogs are nice now that I don't have to worry about filling anything out but their a pain when you get to the 10th hour and you need to basically start shutting it down unless you know #### well you can park it close to your 11.
We all know there are some loads where you are going to have to do your full 11 and that is where it gets fun. I have two log violations and both of then occurred in a TA truck stop while I was trying to park. Both where 7 minutes over.
The first one logged me back on the driving while I was backing into a spot. And I thought I had stopped enough before the 7/10th of a mile. Apparently I did not.
The other day I got a message saying please log off then wait five minutes to log back in because of updates to the system. I had only three hours on my 70 left. When I logged back in I had a full 70 and what I drove the day before just magically vanished..
Hmm error in my favor or super log violation? DunnoSheepDog Thanks this. -
The update went a bit weird on me too. The only thing I noticed is it logs state line crossings on the graph now. BRX border crossing.

i have 1 right now with star i love it but i dont kno if i get tickets for going 1 minute over though

You can have violations, the catch point is Swift needs to know about them before DOT finds out about them. When Swift knows about the violation, they will pay DOT a little $10 dollar fine for each one then give you a $20 dollar tongue lashing. Keep your violations percentage extremely low for your own job protection though. 11.25 hours driving during 14 logged, been there done that many times no problems. They won't advertise this; they want you 100% compliant, but you can get away with 99.8% compliant believe it or not.

Well have spent sometime off,no funtime (seriously not fun time!) gave the approval to install the new quallcomm,in mira loma(btw one of the better shops,i think) have been playing with it and querying for loads via mac 30,had to do the training, but i dont see the hos or elogs being enabled? so what gives? I had to get the right login code from my wonderful dm,haha seriously!(she is) and she started talking about a class,is it seperate from the quallcomm training,an elogs class? or am i missing something.please tell, huh, huh?

Yeah gotta do an elog class too. Then they flip the switch and you are on the shock collar. And I think you are the first person say Mira is a good shop. When I take my truck in I can expect an extended home time.
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
The shock collar?
oh no,thought those days were behind me! lol. yes have had good experience there but never been in a hurry with hometime,1 time they even washed my company truck!and they even called me to tell me what they did with my b service and quallcomm,so thats pretty good i think?
Thanks for the info on the class.
