I agree that its not right. I do not understand this sudden push to get drivers on elogs in the next week, it boggles my mind. One driver was ready to quit, because he could not understand the training on the QC, I was able to calm him down but this is just silly...
Oh what fun! Elogs

Just a thought here... have you guys checked Swift's fatigue BASIC score recently? I really don't know what it is, but I do know that the way CSA is working those scores can swing drastically on a month-by-month basis just over the experience of the last 5 months...scottied67 Thanks this.

This I do not understand. When I was in Phoenix last week, they would not even let you take the class unless you had the new QC in your truck. Dan was saying that sometimes he would have 30 show up for class, and then to have 20 leave because they did not even have the new QC. I know E-logs, but they would not put me on it until I did attend. Since I have until 2012, I am not going to be in any rush. Less time at a terminal, the better that I feel.scottied67 Thanks this.

4200 log violations in 2 years according to CSA. Hmmm...scottied67 Thanks this.

I thought the goal for L/O was August of this year, but maybe I misunderstood... or maybe its changed, hell things change all the time, I cant keep up.

Pretty sure August of 2012. Even what Injun, I think, was told. From what I understand, there are quite a few L/O that do not have the new QC, and I think figuring out who is going to pay. Also from what I hear, they are only putting the new QC's in the company trucks that are 09 or newer.

Sounds like it'd be worth it to throw everything into paying off the truck before then and going freelance.

I think they may be pushing this to reduce the number form and manner violations, which are attributed to fatigue by authorities.
I got a warning for not having one signed in a week, it just got lost in the shuffle of trying to turn in paperwork from the previous week so I wouuld get paid. My small company isn't that worried about it, but I have been more diligent of late.
This was over a year ago, so it has already been reduced.BigShrek72 Thanks this. -
All you really have to do is draw a line straight down from the drive line and back up to line 1 or line 2 straight up. Just a little flag and then draw a line in remarks stating city and state and under that you may write 'post trip'.
It is critical that you sign the DVIR bottom right if you drove that day.
Speaking of elogs for a moment again I guess another good thing is there will be no more missing logs like I am currently suffering from. Missing logs from way back in mid February-- 7 days off duty worth. I was not assigned a truck, in fact I had just quit off an O/O's truck. Every few days I get a message to rescan them and send in the confirmation code to take me off safety hold. I told my DM after 6 months they should stop bugging me about it lol. -
Personally Scottie, I think they'll still lose the logs. LOL
