I DIY with rather spendy oil.
30 gallon drum will do me 2 changes with plenty of top up - I sample and extend drains to 25-35k, as permissible by sampling.
Case of grease will last 18 months, fuel additive - again, spendy, but lasts 6-12 months, I sparingly dose it.
1995 S60.
Suits my operation - I bought this order not really needing it, but in advance of a 7% price rise.

Schaeffer is pricey stuff. The 5W40 full syn even more so. Their old CJ-4 formulations were better I think, but that's the same deal with all CK-4 formulations where compromises were made to keep emissions systems happy.
If you run a pre-emission motor Amsoil still offers their old CI-4+ formulation HDD 5W30. I'm not aware of anybody else that does that. They just update the formula and call it the same product, but it's really not. Supposedly that stuff is the cat's meow for the older motors if price is no object.Rideandrepair and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
My time is worth more than doing oil myself.
I currently pay $335 for oil + filter with shell rotella at the Kenworth dealership here in town.slow.rider, Dave_in_AZ, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this. -
I’m really indifferent to the topic,
It boils down to what suits your operation. It’s just a cost of business at the end of the day.drivinhome, exhausted379 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I think I can change my oil, lube my chassis, look over the underbelly of my truck in about the time it takes to take the truck down to get it changed somewhere and either wait, or get a ride home and back to pick it up later and the place I would use is right down the road. I somewhat enjoy doing it. But I was an aircraft mechanic for years and baffle myself with how little I know about trucks while I wipe grease in my eye and say the F word 42 times... lol

If you’re looking for a electric grease gun the Milwaukee one I got seems nice. I haven’t used it yet because I can’t decide on what brand/type grease to go with. I need something that is High temp for 5 remote applications.
Online @ the “Red Tool Store”
Was $300 and shipped really fast..few days it was at my doorstep.Attached Files:

I like my LockNLube pistol grip. Don't really see the need for pneumatic or battery powered grease guns for greasing one truck. If it's a shop or agricultural setting where multiple machines need greased almost every day I can see wanting that. Those TerraGator fertilizing machines have a row of remote lube zerks like two feet long.
