Not trying to upset you here.
I can take a picture of a paysheet and post it if you want, but we're paid .6633 cpm. When we started out the top rate was .58, and we started at at about 4 cents less, then worked up to the top rate after 2 years.
The split miles equation still re-confuses me at times, we're husband and wife so I try to look at as "66cpm to the truck" - two guys would split that final figure.

Yes, that's gross - but all paid miles in trucking are quoted in gross figures - everyone's tax situation is different, and health insurance etc.

Sorry it didn't work out for you.

    Thank you - that's a clearer explanation.

    Geez, what a night!

Went to Grand Rapids, and had to wait 2.5 hours for my freight to be ready. After I leave, I stop in a rest area in Indiana, where some jackwagon nearly takes the the hood of my truck off because he turned too soon out of his parking spot! Luckily, he missed me by mere centimeters. Just got home 20 minutes ago, at 5:50 AM. Rinse and repeat in 10 hours!

I can take a picture of my pay stub also. I just think your misleading in giving the impression that teams start out at .663 per mile.
I have almost 20 years experience but they only give one year rating to me which put me at .62 for half the miles. My co driver had been there for three years and he was getting half of .66, I beleive.
For a husband and wife team it is really good money. Probably best in the industry.

Things didn't work out for me because of a couple of reasons, partially because they couldn't get the AC fixed in our truck and wouldn't give us another truck till one would be available (two weeks). They did try and fix it several times and said it was fixed each time.
Also didn't work for me, because I couldn't get use to sleeping with another driver ( tried almost a month). Though I think the ac would've helped.
Guess I've been solo to long

    blairandgretchen Thanks this.

That's not true. I started as a full time linehaul driver and have never ran city p&d.

And when did u start? My buddy started last year and he had choice also.
But as if a few months ago, they were telling all new drivers had to run combo.

I started Sept 9th and im a full time linehaul solo driver. I don't run p&d or team and haven't been asked. Its my understanding if you don't have any experience and they train you then you run combo for a year. I know the guys I started with were all linehaul.

That's true. A few months ago they were hiring only combo drivers. When I hired on at Indy, they needed linehaul drivers. It is all about what they need when you hire in.

What OD hires all depends on the terminal. Each terminal is like a small company within itself. At ours we'll hire new guys right out of school to do linehaul only or city only depending what's needed at the time.
