Ok, I put the last on I had on the application...from 1983 or 1984. Thanks for all the guidance. This forum kicks ###.
-
FYI - Some companies have zero tolerance, some allow one in lifetime, some allow two, and then there's the rest.
-
I just saw the driving record for a driver that had a couple DUI's in 2010. They were not in a commercial vehicle. He is currently back to driving for an OTR company pulling vans.
-
Well, since I went ahead and disclosed the DUI on the application and sent it, we'll see what happens.
This company topped my list after looking at many alternatives, so I have my hopes up. I'll call their recruiter next week and see where I stand. Then will probably apply to a few others that ranked high on the list.tucker Thanks this. -
Most apps I've seen say in the last 7 years, if this is what on yours, I wouldn't on a 30 yr old DUI, if it just say " any DUI's" then yes
-
If a company asks if you have ever had a dui dont apply there. The vast majority of all companies word the question with "in the past 10/5/7 etc years".
Apply with those companies because then you will be able to put you have nothing honestly. Look if chinatown is telling you to be honest you better be honest. That guy has no problem telling people to lie or cheat if he thinks they can get away with it. -
Did they even have computers 30 years ago? My company had a question like, did you ever smoke pot or did you ever use drugs? I put Yes, seemed odd to lie, and they even hired me
-
yeah man, like most have said in here already if it says "have you ever had a DUI" than put it. If it says have you had any DUI's within the past 10 years, than be honest and say no. Now some companies like to be tricky so make sure you read through the application thoroughly, they will ask you about DUI's within the past 10 but than ask if you have ever been convicted of ANY alcohol offenses, and if you put no for one and yes for the other you just have to jot down a little explanation of how long ago and so on.

if those were in floriduh,
its still on your lifetime mvr..........
