I think there's a lot of worn out overpriced junk out there in the 1998-1999 range. Be careful of what you buy. You could easily sink many tens of thousands more into a truck like that.Another Canadian driver, 59EX, mjd4277 and 4 others Thank this.

I have no doubt about that. In fact I'm expecting that. In my case even if I do find a perfect one it's still gonna be $10k to $15k right away for PTO and blowers. I've been saving money to buy an investment property but thinking of maybe a tractor instead so I can still work without ending up in a straight jacket.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

Are you seriously looking into purchasing at truck ? Have you been following “any” threads in here to see what’s going in The industry? You seemed to be more worried about the speed limiters then what’s happening with the freight and rates…… let us know how it works for you….D.Tibbitt, Another Canadian driver, Dino soar and 2 others Thank this.

Yes I am and no I'm not paying attention to freight rates. I'm not in the freight business I'm in the oilfield business. High fuel prices benefit me actually. Although maybe we'll luck out and get an oilfield exemption if Chevron, Halliburton, etc start complaining.Another Canadian driver, North Pole Nightmare and Diesel Dave Thank this.

Don’t trucks get beat up in the “oilfields” ?Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
-
Yes they do. I was talking to one of the O/O's the other day. He spent $60,000 last year on maintenance on his truck but still made $260k all said and done. He's got an old flat top KW. When you're grossing $11k to $15k a week you can afford a little extra maintenance.RefMata, Another Canadian driver, Opendeckin and 1 other person Thank this.

Where can we do so?Another Canadian driver, TheLoadOut and Bret1984 Thank this.
