Old timers, was it really better before technology?

    Or better yet, a U model Mack with the switch on the dash that turned off your steer axle brake air...old timer's traction control...and the full locking peanut drive axles.

    Also known as arm-strong steering. My left pinky finger and right pointer finger still ache from when I would catch them on the vent window latch trying to drive with the oversized steering wheel that system had.

    lol… yea I know where you’re coming from. I learnt years ago that open wing glass and cigarettes between your fingers don’t work well when in tight places….

    Speaking of no power steering…. although it had no power steering, this was my favorite Cabover, and I drove a lot of them.

    Ran WV to TX regularly in this truck, 1978 aerodyne. Cummins / 12513 / 3:90 Rockwell’s / 24.5 tall…..

    I drove a Ford 9000 day cab for Central Transport, that had the brake switch on the dash.Don't know if it worked....

    great information thanks for the reply... I always wonder as a owner operator does it suck if someone hits your truck ? If it's minor would you just let it go or would you call law enforcement?
