Well...that's just it lol. We gotta sample size of a lot more than 1 male driver just on TTR alone. I don't know man. Some generalizations, there may be truth to it, but I think BS tolerance in particular is more of a case by case thing than a gender thing. I think working in this industry, you gotta have a high BS tolerance, regardless of gender, because trucking definitely has a lot of BS. I guess I just had trouble with the whole women are more compliant comment. It didn't make sense to me. We all gotta comply with HOS and such. Companies have certain policies that we comply to. Maybe male drivers the perception is that male drivers are more of a headache?

The only generalization that I've ever heard from a company came from my company, around the time I went for medical leave. Dispatch hated that I went down because per their words, I was the "one driver from the south that was any good." They didn't particularly like southern drivers because the fussed a out our running lanes, which is a lot of Denver, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and good number of cold weather states in the midst of winter. Those drivers pretty much wanted to stay between Dallas and Atlanta. There could possibly be truth to that one because I have seen souther guys regularly raise hell about having to go north. Lol

I'm a really old lady and I have run across a couple of companies that I know were discriminating against me but most don't.

Hi Uturn, how've you been? When my ex-gf started trucking in the early 80s, she married a truck owner and drove one of the trucks OTR , and other pioneers like her, took quite a lambasting. The men felt threatened by a women doing "their" job. they purposely made it tough for her. Things like, no women showers, or, "hey lady, go get the driver", ( laughing hysterically with his other forklift buddies) purposely over loading or waiting, it's a much different scene today thanks to women like her. Statistically today, women still don't do well. They only make up about 10% of all drivers, and are more likely to quit than their male counterparts, for a number of reasons. Not so much discrimination, just the job was misrepresented to them, or "the last resort in town" didn't pan out, and many quit in the 1st year. Take care out there, eh?
