On a trailer built for the concentrated weight of a big coil.
I'd bet a cup of coffee if we was to look at the build sheet of this trailer we would find it was not specced to hold 60k in a 4 ft area. Which is what you want if you are going to hail big coils.
Oops,anybody we know?

I will be on the lookout for step decks like this to videotape for you guys...
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
personally i would put that on my 48 flat spread axle way before some step deck. about 9" forward of the middle marker lights on side of trailer. throw all my jewelry at it. check my route and pray a prius doesnt cut me off in traffic.
yes coil racks and donage will be used -
As an example: I run a Cascadia condo. Because of the extra weight of my tractor, I tend to bias an inch or two further back with my freight than I would with an older International 9400 midroof to account for extra weight. That generally keeps me pretty even between drives and spreads on weight, and gives a better chance of pulling up steeper grades.
Plus, I hate the ride when the drives are too light. Just doesn't feel right.
And, given the width of the coil, he could have been right up on the line on axle weights and gross, too. I know I've come out of Arcelor Mitral right at 80,000 gross a couple of times. -
The right tool for the job!
That coil was probly a cheap backhaul! But at least it was no tarp.
Lol -

Nice little break. See something new every time.
IF that is there a steel coil... I estimate it at around 30000 pounds.
Love the hands in pockets body language. That's worth a thousand words.
