Had it on a truck one winter where it was really cold in Denver. The company set the truck up so that it wouldn't idle for more than 15 minutes. The truck would cut off and immediately start back up. It burned the starter up.

Opti-idle is a DPF system destroyer. Too many low temperature exhaust hours.

I know. I bought a opti idle truck from Crete and had the DPF system fail and require full replacement at 499700 miles.

300 more miles and the 12k bill would have been on me, not the factory warranty.

As for sleeping through the engine cranking and turning off? It bothered me for the first few weeks. I don't even notice it now.

I love my espar heater in the winter, only idle when im using the summer an apu runs almost constantly, saving a quart of fuel or two an hour really doesn’t add up when I can do an inframe cheaper then I can buy an apu
