Ive got '11 pete with a built in fridge which doesnt work. I started using my coleman iceless cooler again. Well the original power cord burnt up. Bought another cord and not even 2-3weeks later this cord burnt up (melted).
Are there any other coolers out there that wont burn up? Id hate to go back to cooler with ice but it looks to be that way. Company wont put me another fridge in here so that is out.

if the cord is burning up you likley have a short int he fridge AND someone changed out the fuse. The cable should be ok for 15 amps so unless the fuse was changed on the truck it shouldnt be burning cords. The roadking one i had worked ok for about a year, but then needed a new fan. You can buy better fans and supercharge them lol

you only have 3 options driver. and you said 1 is out of the question. so that leaves you with replacing your cooler or going with ice.

frankly, ice works much better. but defenitly a hassle.

i tried one of them small coolers. they just can't handle the summer heat.

I use an Avanti 12/120 volt cooler, you can get them at TA/Petro for about 200 bucks or so, have had it over two years and still going strong. They are cost more than the coleman but last longer and cool better. They have a thermostat in them and cycle on and off as needed. I have had things freeze in it when I had it turned too low in the winter, summer not so much.

    I'm a fan of ENGEL.
Had one 7 years no problem.
    It a 12/120 - chills and freezes.
$700, but once you do the math on ice, it adds up OK.

well if your int he 700 budget, my Waeco does great.500 bucks.... Has a fridge and freezer. runs on 12 volt. Compressor cooling, not peidier. My freightshaker has the original one for almost 800,000 miles and it still runs great. Thats a 2006 truck so its 8 years old. (and it rode in a freightSHAKER so it must be heavy duty). I just bought one for my 2010 T660 and they havnt changed anything in 8 years. the new on is just as solid.

FYI, Waeco is now Dometic. The CF series are awesome... saving my pennies!
