Well I think I have had about as much of this truck as I am prepared to take. I have been hearing for 2 months and 3 fleet managers ago that they are going to TRY to get me something else due to me being in the shop once a week. I am back in Vandalia and I told my fleet manager that I will still be here Monday when he gets in so that I am assigned another truck. I will not drive this one any more. I can not make any money being in the shop once a week. I am tired of the lip service and they are either going to get me another truck or they can have this one. I would make more money being a walmart greeter. I might even make more money panhandleing. I have been here since march and am on my 4th FM and my second POS truck. I spoke to someone in VB about my problems and he said that when he gets in monday, if my FM had not gotten me another truck that he would make sure a got a better truck. I know they were only words but I will take him at his word until he proves me wrong. If this keeps up I feel I will be on the first thing smoking out of here.

I hate reading this. I also hate that you are locked into a contract with USA Truck and going through this crap. I don't know what you were driving but suspect it's a Prostar. It's my understanding all the Prostars are out of warranty now. I think most of the chronic issues with them are computer related and beyond the ability of the shops to fix. Still the company won't send them to International just like they won't send the tri pacs to Thermal King. It is sad USA Truck has taken this path. With my present company if something like this happens they send the truck to a dealer to get it back to factory specs. However my company just bought 200 Prostars and I am getting reports most of the drivers want their old trucks back. Sarge hang in there, you are in my thoughts.

I was in a 9400, now im in a KW. I could give 2 S Hits about a contract. If I get ready to leave I am gone. They can try to get the money for the contract. Cant get blood from a turnip. They will get what I give them or send it to collections and I will just file for bankrupcy. I will not let a contract keep me from being happy and providing for my family

I don't know about the Prostars. Don't get a 2009 Cascadia. The regeneration filters keep going bad. The turbos are bad. Min was in the shop too. I would want a 2010 or newer Cascadia. I think they have fewer problems. But they have DEF too.

My first truck was a Prostar. It was the most spacious and comfortable of the 3 trucks I've had buy I couldn't keep it out of the shop. All auto tranny problems. 2nd truck was a KW. LOVED that truck. They only took me out of it because the APU completely failed. The rebuild was going to cause a 4-5 day wait for parts. I've been in this 12 Cascadia for 2 months now. No issues at all except for the alternator going out. It was under warranty so it was sent to Thermo King and fixed in the same day. I still believe that the vast majority of the problems USA has with their Prostars are tranny problems due to the automatics. The manual (trainer trucks) did not have a fraction of the issues of the autos. My trainer had had his Prostar since it was new up to 500k miles and he told me the only consistent problem was the EGR and REGEN system. Every International dealer I've ever been at (including with the KW which had a Cummins) has told me that these problems will never be resolved until companies are willing to run their trucks at 65mph or more. That the truck just can't build up enough consistent heat and backpressure to keep the filters clear which leads to excessive parked regens. The parked REGEN was intended to be a last resort and not a frequent occurrence.

No dinky I sure havent heard anything, left messages and no return. I will not call them again. I do not beg for jobs, you either want me or you dont. But if you dont even have the decency to call me and tell me that you either do or dont want me, or even return a phone call when a message is left, then that is a company that I dont want to work for.

And chem, I love the KW, but when it wont stay out of the shop I have learned to hate it very quickly. I refuse to drive it any more. They have to order parts for the regen system and the apu tomorrow, been here since yesterday, I told them dont get in a rush for me because I will not be driving it anymore.

Well, had to call someone in VB to get anything done. They tried to tell me I was going to stay in this truck, problems or no problems. 5 min after speaking to someone higher up, all of a sudden I had a different truck! Finally now maybe I can put down some miles.

Isn't the corporate world amazing. Those people on the first floor at VB are trying to get up the floors. Cutting each others throats. Cutting our throats. Sometimes you have to step on heads. "Good Work".. I don't imagine they want to lose any more drivers.:biggrin_25519:
