Don't decide in advance you can't sleep while truck moves or that sharing a truck is hard. It is what it is and you will soon have your own truck. If the trainer says "touch your ear before making a left turn" do it. If he says "never send a qualcomm message that ends with a question mark" do it. Once you are in your own truck you follow the company rules and do things your way. The best way to get into your won truck is to make the trainer think you are ready. You aren't there to fix him or force him to make you happy.
If all goes as planned, you'll never have to ride with a trainer again. If you quit early, you will have to ride with another trainer. You don't win arguments with trainers. Ask him to explain anything you don't understand. If what he says contradicts what school taught you, do it his way until you get your own truck. You are in his truck. Remember, only YOU can protect your license. If he asks you to do something dangerous or illegal while you are behind the wheel, you protect your license. Nobody gets out of a ticket by saying "but my trainer said to...".
Back every time you stop, don't pull thru. Avoiding backing is practicing to fail. You can do it. People dumber, slower, more hard-headed do it every day.
