OTR dress code

ILike lightweight, easy to wash type stuff. Was wearing long pants and polos up north. But got down to GA and its shorts, flippys, and throw on a T-shirt when I go into a truck stop.

 

24 of em ain't gotta fit nuthin!!

Don't listen to these folks. They are being cruel to you by trying to trick you into showing up terribly under-dressed.

I have all my driving outfits made by Brooks Brothers of New York. My shoes are Italian by Santoni. And my sun glasses are by Ralph Lauren. Socks are by Harry's of London. As for underwear, COMMANDO

 

If you work for a mega carrier, they will issue you sweat pants (both cut-off and fully in-tact varieties), a polo shirt that is several sizes too large (coffee,sweat, and grease stains are up to you to provide), a pair of sandals with several unnecessary Velcro straps (this is so you don't have to ever cut your toenails. They're gonna be running you so hard that you won't have time for basic hygiene), and a ridiculously large Bluetooth device (you must never take it off, that's how we all know that you're an important truck driving man).

as for me, I'm partial to blue jeans and a t-shirt (both of which are clean, fit properly, and are changed daily). Foot wear is a comfortable pair of Vans sneakers, but I also keep a good pair of steel toed boots in the truck for certain situations.

 

Get that stupid blue flashing headset off your noggin.

Please start a new trend by wearing comfortable, tidy attire to work, and sensible footwear.

Shower and shave.

And as truck duo says - comb your hair, and smile.

 

No ghetto clothing or hoodies or loose track suit bottoms ,

 

1. Shirt...long-sleeved , cowboy type,...color...faded denim or dusty.... ( must be worn tucked-in , and UN-buttoned to show your chest bling-bling )

2. Pants...Levi's ...extra tight fitting , boot-cut....with a chewing tobacco "scar" on the right rear pocket ( any brand..but RedMan is preferred)

3. Boots (ONLY Boots required)...cowboy type....with steel heel-taps , and the tin-toe covers ( waxed and shinned of course) Oh , and it helps to have a worn out spot on the right-hand side for proof that you drive a "hood''.

4. accessories...Belt... (must have)...leather , with your CB handle / name (name optional , but handle required) carved into the back. Belt-buckle...HUGE , silver in color (also a requirement Cadillac hub-cap size at minimum) oval in shape with some sort of turquoise decoration in the middle...gloves..work gloves preferably ( driving gloves are considered passe and tacky these days) tucked into those Levi's like a Rooster's crown.....Pen... tucked into the left-front shirt pocket...(good pen now..ball-points just won't do)....chain-drive wallet of some sort...brown leather (worn looking)...chain MUST be silver , and at the minimum 24" in length.

5. Head-wear.....(the crowning glory) ....Cowboy style ...wide-brimmed , tall , and BLACK in color....must have the Indians style band , with either an "Ace-Of-Spades" , or a goose / turkey feather stuck in it.....

Oh and BTW the well dressed OTR driver always , always , did I say always uses the phrase "I heard that!" at every opportunity......Happy trails.....

just go to wal mart and get you a card board cowboy hat N some plastic cowboy boots. and you'll be ready to roll
