That’s a nice officer there.
Kentucky asked me to grab mine and bring it in years ago - didn’t bother them it took me 5 minutes to fill it in while I was in the truck retrieving it.

Does that driver still have a JOB?
KB3MMX and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
Most of them are a little understanding as long as it's only a few hours behind and not on yesterday yet, or last week.Bakerman Thanks this.

There is a DOT instruction that allows a driver to catch up the current day and the day before. Doesn't mean it can't still be a violation but it reduces the likelyhood of an OOS.

Think youre Right...just like No license plates a lot Less Severe than "modifying" the month or switching from one truck to another one.

I have taken advantage of this every time a DOT scale man found something in my logs all my life. Law says I am given one chance to submit to DOT officer a correct log going back 7 days if necessary prior to suspected error, violation or what have you. The way this happens is I never sign my log until after midnight each working day. To sign that log is to seal it legally and if they did find something, there isnt any way to fix it one time.
If I was to operate in the modern ELD HOS environment there should be no question as to when the 11/14/70 hours are all up. When it's finished, you stop. If you don't and get caught, OOS is very possible. -
I wondered the same..
That would be a instant termination for anyone with me. Ridiculous.
Too bad DOT doesn't have any allowance for dealing with idiot employees like that where you can terminate them immediately and reduce or avoid the CSA points.CrappieJunkie Thanks this.
