We have gotten lazy for such functions to even exist as an option. All these years the trucking world has gotten by without it. But because someone thought it up, here we are.....I get fully why the function exists.

5th wheel release switches are in the same category- heaven forbit we have to get out of the truck to pull the lever?????

The level valve is tied into datalink for safety so that the brainless operator doesn't forget to turn the switch off and drive the truck with the suspension fully extended and the driveshaft angles off to potentially cause a driveline failure. The same function exists for the dump feature.

    Rant over.......

    The answer to your question,

Make sure you tie into the regulated air supply and you wont have an issue. Pressurizing over 90psi may be bad. I would mount your air solenoid back by the level valve and just tie it into the existing level valve supply. Engine fan solenoid should work swell.

I Would say far from lazy not many truck even have those installed. For me i do drop and hook and Lots of our plants the trailers are so close u cant even use the land gear handle or people drop them super high and the yard dogs don't lower the land gear. Most of the time its because the land gear is in a Bind and its a PITA to sit there and try to crank a trailer thats 4 inches to high in low gear down. Here a perfect example 3 loads ago i had to crouch under another Trailer and had to keep putting the land gear in low gear and couldn't have it pointed straight out due to how close the trailers was. So the lazy statement is so wrong places are just tight on room anymore and make it super hard on drivers. But yes i plan on just splicing into the line coming off the valve

I ment no intent to offend with the lazy comment. I get it.....

The lifting of the suspension is limited travel and with a load it wont even accomplish much.

The company i pull for there trucks are just starting to get Hadley values which do the same thing as im trying. They lift these loaded trailers enough to pull em up and then put the landing gear up. I took no offense just trying to help people understand why. These plants are getting worse about it and would love to get this done before it -10 out and im fighting with it Lol

A simpler solution would be to get you 2 6x6 blocks about 12 inches long and set them on your frame rail behind your 5th wheel. Drop the air back under & raise trailer. Not as easy as flipping a switch but it will work.

Pretty sure he wants to hook up and pull the trailer out to where there is room to work.

At my old job we added ball valves to our leveling valves to lock the suspension, it was for unloading tankers with rear discharge. We "locked" the suspension and as the tank went empty, weight came off the tractor and the bags stayed inflated to 60-ish PSI, raising the rear of the tractor. Not sure if this would work for your intended use but just a thought. If you're dropping a loaded trailer, lock the valve and when you pull out your bags will stay inflated until you unlock it

Got it installed today with valve. Under $200 and it works great. Lift it like an extra 5 inches. Haven't put it to a real test to see if it will blow an airbag yet I'll wait till I get home for that part. I'd imagined the airbags can handle 120 psi
