Just be respectful of other drivers..don’t drive through parking lots at high speed, only park on fuel island long enough to take care of quick business long enough to allow the person behind you to fuel but not be held up after doing so..

If you can handle the adjustment to it and your schedule allows, night running/day sleeping is far better. You can find parking anywhere, the showers are always empty,as are the fuel lanes. The coffee is fresher, the drivers tend to be old school, the four wheelers are gone, and the roads belong to you. It’s a little dose of what trucking used to be, and it’s far less stressful. Best of luck!

You are going to meet a lot of ignorant drivers of the imported variety. Car travelers also frequent the truck stops so a lot of dealing with them as well. You will also meet some decent drivers, truck stop employees. Basically the same as the rest society. Majority aren’t worth interacting with. It’s better to be a ghost and keep your sanity.

BTW, congratulations on your new job and profession.
