Most of you should know by now, those sweet, sweet loads to Laredo? Unless you want to spend the weekend on the border, dont go on a friday. You will sit all weekend. Most big terminal locations are bad places to be on weekends, but they can also be a good place to be to get you home... Freight is so weird sometimes.
Shrek, with all respect, they were trying to dump on me. After 2 pplans I would think that would see home time request, and then a 3rd one that is not on any route that gets me home, and then decline, and right away one that does go home. It did not just come up. Please. I have been a Load planner myself and a DM. they were trying to get me to cover. As a L/P, I am starting to learn. Plus there have been others that have said, that when in Memphis, they will take care of their drivers, and then take care of the others later. Shrek, I know that they have to cover what they can, but when they see home time, and it is in the computer for some time, then why is it so hard, Especially, Memphis to Columbus.
Maybe that's what's happening to me lol, getting dumped on. Screwed up and forgot to get an updated cab card registration at the mothership terminal so now have to try to get routed back towards home as they sent a message that the cab card cannot be picked up away from one's mothership nor faxed. Anyway got a beep- preplan I couldn't get to it because I was trying to keep from being later than I was on the current load, after while another beep, when I finally read it, I was offered two choices-- Accept the load if I have the hours to run legally and/or can make the appointment times. What about the choice of No Thank You for your load that shows pick up several hours ago and I have to really hustle to not be late? Anyway just venting. I requested hometime last December 15th, got home around January 20th or so (would have to look it up). Not Swift's fault, had an opportunity to run about 4200 miles Christmas week which took me 2000 miles from home then got hit by an SUV which put me in a hotel for 5 days over New Years at just $50 bucks a day, told DM, keep my on the road for now to make up for lost distance.
Well, I will tell you planners in Memphis do not care what terminal you are out of. They only care about covering loads. As for a load to Columbus from Memphis, I dont know why they didnt have one, that is a little unusual, but I dunno. I do love that everyone thinks planners are biased. Come sit down with one some night.
Or you could get a job at an awesome UNION company and leave all this B.S. from a bottom feeder behind you.
No! He is a happy L/O with Swift. BLSqueak are you a L/O, or a L/P? I got paid $75 on top of my regular pay to work the 4th. Not gonna lie. Being from Memphis it is easier to get loads out of there. Gotta know someone.
So do any of you live near the Atlanta, GA terminal? My husband was told out 12 days and in 2-12 on Swifts "family plan". Anybody know about that?
