Hello everyone!
I am just wondering if anyone knows if I have to obtain an oversize permit if I have a Flatbed trailer 53' if my commodity is 60 ft long?
I know in some states 60 ft long is still a legal dimension. How much can I have my load be a little bit over my trailer but not required to obtain a permit?
Maybe there's some united DOT sheet about each state saying how much is still a legal dimension?
Please share your knowledge!
Thank you!

I don't think the atlas has that info. But I haven't seen an atlas in years.
Put dunnage up front of trailer to lift the overhang up. If you're hauling rebar. No if trusses or whatever. Have load sitting 3 feet front of trailer that leaves you 4 feet in the back.
Less then 4 feet rear you shouldn't need banners. Or permits. Maybe.
Not sure on eastern states but that's the general rule in the west. Minus Wyoming. Which goes off 60 feet.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
