quite well but the name is still own by them as far I am aware of and buying is same owning it will be to the highest bidder. the company itself may be over but I assure you the name is still owned by someone. everything is owned nowadays even names.

Just my opinion but one would be a fool to want to own the Falcon name.
20% of vehicle inspections resulted in out of service status with 3 fatal crashes....data taken for the prior 24 months ending May 1, 2019 right off of the FMSCA website

Very little to me. Maybe $500.00. About that is what I paid to have Rex Evilsizer do my first one. Second one I did myself and it was $300.00. The trick to insurance is to be self insuring so you want a very high deductible. $15,000 deductible is a good start. In my humble opinion if you don't have at least $25,000 cash sitting in a back up account you have no business getting your own Authority.

Ok so now here is really why I was asking, again I just didn’t understand why anyone would want to buy or sell an authority and the response I am taking away from it is that one really want to.
I have a 2007 379.....the one in my avatar. I am not a truck driver nor do I plan on it but I love semi trucks so I bought one because I can. I have done so much research on this topic I could be an expert but in my state of Ohio you can only plate it and get insurance as a commercial vehicle, which means from an insurance standpoint I have to carry all of the liability coverage that a real carrier would. My limits are a bit different though and probably only have of what would really be required. What I was asking was if it would have been worth my time and money to get my authority and then sell it after two years. The answer is no.

Can’t you register it as an RV?

    Not for my setup.
I pull a 48’ van drop deck that is converted to living quarters.
I’m Ohio, RV can only be registered if you have no fifth wheel.

    Ruthless and Bakerman Thank this.

Maybe a former driver screwed by them might want to take the name as the last hurrah I guess personally myself wouldn't but that's just me.

Look into registering it in another state.

My neighbor built a single axle tractor to pull his fifth wheel RV and registered it as an RV here in Arizona

Ya I could see a former driver doing that if it were free but nobody is going to buy it
