I have a flatbed, run out of Florida and run on average 2500 miles per week, and generate $20-25,000 per month in revenue. I run my own authority and my wife books my loads. You may want to get a tractor and legal flatbed or stepdeck and lease to an owner operator company like Landstar, Mercer or Bennett.

Hell yea. I'm basing my weekly goal average at $7,500 a week minimum gross in order to make money but it will go up as fuel prices go up. $10k won't even cover a full two weeks and leave you with some change in your pocket. My last employer had a dead set minimum of $8,200 a week goal but he was running 6 trucks not just one. Thing is, is to work smarter and not harder. Find the right loads paying decent or more and you won't have to run the wheels off your truck to turn a profit. We have a customer here in town that was paying $1,500 per load flat rate to go 250 miles to north Houston. The rate last I heard dropped to $1,200 but thats still a good chunck even if we had to deadhead back for a reload other wise we would tend to end up with something going to Midland and then finding something back towards DFW but most of the time we would deliver drill stem just across the state line to rigs and then come on in. Sweet gig that would pay very well for even a company driver had it not been for the dip #### investor that was nickle and diming the piss out of us.

Ya this is old stuff I had a driver tell me I was loosing money that I should start doing over the road instead of what I was doing! At the time of this post I've never even pulled a load off a load board didn't really know what one was.

i ran my numbers over the weekend I've drove 29,820 miles this year and I've made $121,000 and have sleep in my truck 42 nights this year I don't think that's bad at all and have spent $20,000 in fuel

    #### it man, thats effing awsome! Not sure yet but I'm going to pick a tax bracket to stay within then once I'm close or I reach it, then I'm parking it and going on vacation. Not sure about my other trucks though once I purchase them and get them on the road.
