Interesting sign on bonus information. Instead of boosting the cpm which has long term payout, they write a sign on bonus check instead.

Financially, and that's the only aspect I'm discussing, repaying $5k at $150/mo will take 34 months. Assuming 100k miles per year at $0.35 (33+2) = $35k/yr
    100k miles per year at $0.40 = $40k/yr

Financially & time wise you would be ahead working for someone that didn't reimburse tuition but paid you 40CPM. They would virtually reimburse your tuition in 1 year, not 3. Jim Palmer/Wil-Trans pays 40CPM plus as much of the 5CPM fuel bonus as you can earn, assume 4CPM is reasonable. If you got 4 CPM fuel bonus you could earn twice your tuition ver the lower paying company. Tuition reimbursement isn't always better. I don't know which companies you are considering or their impacts on hometime, work life, driving areas, etc. Lots of things can be more important than some extra pay.

Actually, I have it written down somewhere but I believe I get 2 raises the first year bringing me up to .39 then add in the $2,500 bonus paid out the first year....so it's close.

The big deciding factor for me was them having a drop yard about 60miles from my house. Even if they let me take the truck home my county bylaws won't allow it. I also want to drive tankers, so possibly I could switch divisions after 6 months. Personally I have no desire in running vans at all.
I was/still am looking at an awesome tanker co that pays .50-.51? cpm with tuition reimbursement but it requires me living closer to their terminal. Seemed like much better health insurance also.

Seems like I just live in a bad area in FL..I either need to move 2.5 hours north or 1.5 hours west to get more of a selection.

I appreciate your input and will look at those 2 companies.
