I'd go Conway over swift any day.

Sorry - now I think about it , they paid you back for your training school if you stuck with them for 18 months or so. Had to be at crowder college in neosho, MO.

OK. So you took the cheaper , shorter training that swift financed for you. If you leave them in a month do they let you make payments or demand the lump sum?
Also, what is the mileage pay and how long are you with a trainer for?

Ltl pays more than til. If I driver solo at my company its at .55 CPM - and there's very few if any trouble companies that pay that. Plays a paid motel room at the end of the drive, no sleeping in nasty truck stops. Compare the turnover rate of ltl to talk - 7% vs. 90%. Says it all. Well, it did for me . No unpaid loading time , $75,000 plus a year . . .

The contract that I signed was for a one year repayment. No condition that I drive for Swift. The only mention of driving for Swift was that they would pay me 1/2 the payment for two years, provided I drive for them. Given that the repayment is an average of 1.5 cpm, it's not going to hold me there.

I'm not sure what the mileage and "mentor" time is, as I haven't signed with anyone yet. (Still talking with other companies.) Word around the school water cooler was 26 cpm to start (raises every 3 months), and 240 hours behind the wheel with your mentor.

I'm not sure about the lump sum payment.

I've been told by the recruiter that while with trainer/mentor you will get paid your states minimum wage plus $1 while you are behind the wheel. When working and not behind the wheel, you will get paid the minimum wage. The recruiter said you will received about $500 during the training with your mentor.
You are with your mentor 4 to 6 weeks and then your truck after you pass their driving test.
