I have been and the cop told me he pulled me over because he wanted to. Aka no obvious infraction in mind ahead of time and he snooped around my cab for receipts as he was talking to me. I wouldn’t recommend driving through Nevada either

This is a business with lots of rules. It has been that way for a long time, whether you followed them or not.Broke Down 69 Thanks this.

Time is long past for opposition to the ruling.
As said - lobby for an HOS re-write, if you want to expend energy - before THEY do.
If you can’t make money in a 70 hr work week, hang it up.I.C. Weiner and peterd Thank this. -
I honestly never have issues with any DOT or law enforcement. I try to be pleasant and understand they are just doing a job, like I am. So nobody is aggressive with me.
I have had 2 level 1 inspections and 2 lesser inspections in the last 18 months. One was in Iowa. My logs all passed. I’ve also been pulled over for speeding in Texas and only got a non-DOT friendly warning. Why? Because I show respect and never act pissy with cops. In fact, I like cops. They like me. Sounds square but I believe in law and being legal.I.C. Weiner, PAtruckerlife, tucker and 4 others Thank this. -
Yes civility does mean something. However in the mind of an aggressive DOT officer is this situation changes. The effects need to be felt economically. It will be felt shortly after December 18.

Cell phone apps are fairly easy to hack and will very shortly be outlawed. If it isn't connected to the ecm, it won't be acceptable.
That was in Oregon. After crawling all over my logs he proclaimed them in perfect order and also noted I'd driven more miles in a day and week than he had seen yet on elogs...did say he'd seen more on paper that he couldn't pick apart, but he knew he was reading fiction.
Now this makes no sense whatsoever.
Do it all the time with no problems. You want a real rectal exam from a DoT officer with very large fingers, might I suggest Banning.IluvCATS Thanks this. -
I don't like cops, but I'm always cordial. I've never had any super aggressive cops as a driver.nax, Broke Down 69 and IluvCATS Thank this.

What does that have to do with Elogs?IluvCATS Thanks this.

I bet DOT loves to look at your truck and logs. Loves to find a violation. Yet with me, I seem to get a break. Why is that? I’d bet it’s attitude. Right? Elogs are perfect for you. No more unfair scrutiny. Just keep them legal and DOT won’t violate you. Problem solved.
Broke Down 69 and CrappieJunkie Thank this. -
I only got pulled in twice. Once I was driving a brand new tractor with 30 days tags. Wanted to make sure it was not stolen. The other time I was over weight and they had me dead to rights. Got inspected, driving for a mega with crap equipmemt, got a ticket for the over weight and warning for load securement.
Elogs examined. Said they were perfect. No other violations. I said yes sir/no sir the whole time, was very respectful and was cutting up with them. Got out of there no issues at all.IluvCATS Thanks this.
