Here in New Hampshire I was told by DMV that the usual state police fingerprinting and written isn't enough to add a 'P' to an already-existing CDL, now you gotta retake the road test to get that 'P' endorsement.
School bus and coach bus pay has gone up a bit lately, not sure if it's the sudden crimp from these rules or just inflation.
Anyone noticed this in their state?

in calif. as far as i remember it, road test was required to add the p endorsement
Northeasterner Thanks this. -
Road test has always been required as long as I've been driving. But most bus companies that I've seen offer in-house training/testing, so at least there's that.

Might be federal. Buddy here in Missouri, CDL A holder for 20 plus years, had to take a $2k training course and a road test for 'P'. And he failed it the first time around
His thought was the same, he's sold his OTR trucks, bought a dump truck for local and was looking at coach driving , on call - to fill in time.
$25-$30/hour round here.
