Looks like his main goal is getting experience to land a 70k job but neither of those job is consider "experience" since none are otr. Pretty sure WM don't count local work as experience.

If he stays local and jump over local to local then maybe, I would recommend sysco if u want a 70k job but it's more physical than pepsi.

Maybe ltl but depending on how this guy roll, pushing a manual pallet jack might be to hard

I often joke that I got my CDL so I'd never have to work again. The funny part is that it's not true (even with so-called "easy" OTR jobs). It is certainly not true doing LTL P&D work, and is especially not true doing foodservice and beverage delivery.

The "easiest" OTR jobs still require a good work ethic, the ability to run at all times of day/night, and work the equivalent of 2 full-time jobs. Most humans aren't up to it. Most people get worn out driving to Grandma's house.

I'd go with Lowes; no question about that. You'll destroy your back with Pepsi; doesn't matter how young or tough one is.

There's several OTR companies that will hire 21 yr. old drivers, but for local, take the Lowes job.

STAY AWAY FROM LOWES !! I have been driving for lowes 5 years now. They have you pull a lot of your loads, use you where you are needed.I would have to pull appliances ,get them ready for delivery. And when you get a 100 box es of hardwood flooring order to bring upstairs in a house, that's a killer!!!!!!!!!!
I just left this week. Going to get my class a,going to work for Averitt Express.Hope this helped !!

Are you a box truck delivery driver installing appliances or are you the flatbed driver? They made you move the flooring? I thought it was unload and go

Iam flatbed, that what I mean. They tell you one thing ,but you wind up doing every thing. You can only work 39 hours a week. One daycould be 11 hours, next day you need to cut your time. And flatbed does flooring, hardwood in the house, ceramic tile put in garage. And when times are slow they want you to work in the store helping customers. I hated that !!

I've done literally every job pepsi has for drivers- and there's quite a few of them. My experience with Pepsi is that you can't beat the money. Others will tell you the money isn't good- that hasn't been my experience. I've never made under 65k as a full time Pepsi driver. Most years it's between 68 & 75 depending on the type of sales they run that year.

OT at Pepsi is just a way of life. They pay OT after 8. So there's none of that bullcrap where you work 12 hours one day and then get cut later in the week to keep you right at 38 hours. The Coke and Canada Dry guys deal with that. Not Pepsi (most Pepsi plants anyway/ I suppose there are exceptions)

First thing you have to decide is what you want out of work. If it's money. You can't beat Pepsi for your situation. If it's quality of life- I don't know what to tell you. This is a place to make money. You're gonna work hard anywhere from 7 hours (always paid for 8hrs) 12 hours per day. Average of 50-55 hours per week. Paid for every second of it. No freebies.
