Right, but let's say,for example, OP's mirror gets broken while moving, he files a claim with insurance for $500, insurance company denies the claim and cancels that o/o policy, because he is not supposed to move household goods.

Moving costs what it does for a reason. What O/O wants to tie up his equipment while somebody hand loads his life in a trailer? Pay the $4 a mile or rent a u-haul you will find the $4 a mile is cheap.

Ryan423, ChaoSS and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

So you are going to buy, inspect, and insure the trailer and cargo and try to resale at destination? Just how is that going to save you money?

Any way you cut it, you're going to pay 10 grand. So just do it right and let a professinal move your belongings, insure it, load and unload it. Any other way is going to jam you up and your wallet.

You could get your CDL permit. Rent a Penske/Ryder tractor trailer for $700 a week plus $0.11 a mile, $25,000 deposit. Must be returned to rental location most times. Might be able to negotiate for them to accept it to a local rental location to your destination or even for them to return it at cost. If they return it they charge $6 bucks a gallon for diesel though.
Figure $700 bucks rental
$660 maint
$2000 fuel round trip
$3360 +$25000 which would be returned to you.ajduby Thanks this. -

Just stay in Oregon, the people in South Carolina are mainly trash, they're awful to be around, terrible to tAlk to and you'll have them for neighbors.
If you do move there, move near the tourist area so you'll have out of towners to talk to.
