WSTL is a good ol boy company, but they bought new equipment and trailers. Once you get the yard down for what you need to do its a cinch. They're laid back and I'm not one to gossip or cause issues, so I haven't had any problems. I've had the same dispatcher since I started and all in all he's a great guy. I'm very happy there despite some of the same ol trucking BS that everyone else goes through.

As far as Dolphin is concerned, I have only ever spoken to one driver. He had been there like 20 years and didn't have anything to say except it's a decent place. I know they do a lot of business at International Paper in Pine Hill, AL and also I.P. in Cantonment, FL. Other than that, I rarely see them. I don't tend to see them much around, so I'm unsure of how big they are. I'd guess no more than 100 trucks.

5 cpm or 1/2 of a penny? 5cpm is harsh. That drops you pretty darn low.

1/2 a cent, (5 cents would be harsh)

I thought that's what you meant. So they're trying to persuade drivers to really forego a co-pilot. I hAve a buddy wanting to get into trucking. Thanks for this info. I'll pass it along.

Does your buddy need training? Titan Transfer is starting a cdl school; dry van and trucks have APU. Plenty more to choose from.

He is, yeah. I've been trying to steer him to a 3rd party so he isn't locked into a contract. I'll pass this on to him as well, but do they go into the NE at all? He lives up in NH.

I don't know if they do the Northeast. @DRAGON64 works there so maybe he'll answer.

    DRAGON64 and pagan22 Thank this.

Private cdl school is a good choice. After graduation, NFI Industries will probably hire him. They have local, regional, OTR.
Smith Transport hires up there and sometimes bends their own rules and hires new cdl grads.
    McLane Foodservice is another.
Wil-Trans has their own cdl school and hires in NH.
TransAm hires new cdl grads in NH.
He can contact Contract Freighters and ask if they hire there. www.cfidrive.com

Yes, Titan does indeed do the North East. I have been to Mass, NJ, New York, Maryland etc. My trainer has stated that he has even delivered to Maine... he is of the mind set, that I81 is a money making lane for him... lots of drop and hook etc.

Please add FedEx Ground to the pet friendly list. The contractor I work for allows pets.
