2017 Pete 579 mx13. So after I took my truck to KW and they hooked up laptop, my truck now starts without pushing down clutch peddle .
Did they change a setting to make this easier for them to start it ?
It did not do this before I went there.

about anything is anymore.
If wipers are going even to wash windows they can make the cruise deactivate.
I always thought it should be mandatory on all vehicles that when you turn on wipers, headlights come on.blairandgretchen, Rideandrepair and markk Thank this. -
Took it in because changed fuel doser injector. A mechanic online said it would need a test ran on doser in Davie 4 after that to clear code and then forced Regen .
KW said spinner was not spinning. So I installed a new one today.
That is when I found that it did not need clutched to start.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Guess I'll be trying to find a shop with davie4 so they can diagnose it. I'm hoping the parts place did not sell me a bad ocv. 3k for it. Was an open box.

They probably just disabled it. Maybe through the computer? Maybe a disconnected safety switch on the clutch pedal. Easy enough to look under the dash for a disconnect switch on the pedal. Could leave it this way if preferred. Still need to find out what they did if anything. I believe they started putting those safety switches on in the mid 2000’s, It’s a good thing. I always have to check for neutral before starting mine. Only push the clutch in if it’s real cold. Takes some drag off the engine they claim. My wife recently asked why I wiggle the shifter before starting. I explained. She often starts the Truck. Never thought about it myself. Now she knows. Luckily nothing bad ever happened. It’s easy to knock it into gear, especially with 2 people. bumping around things. I’d have them hook it back up. Nice feature. All the newer cars have them. Line a neutral safety switch on an automatic. Good feature. When I was 18, I almost ran myself over, starting my car off the solenoid after doing an engine/transmission swap. Went from a manual to an automatic. Hadn’t hook up the safety switch. It started up, took off, ran into the steel staircase at our hotel where we were staying .I barely got out of the way in time. Brought everyone out of their rooms in a panic. Lol, Good times.
