More government intrusion into our business is NEVER acceptable to anyone with who understands & respects the principles of individual liberty & freedom this country was founded on.
When they make EOBRs mandatory for everyone, all that will do is free up their time so they can focus on their next giant power grab. The feds are never going to stop with this kind of stuff. If we don't fight them every step of the way, we'll end up with no freedoms left at all.

you can't convince the box lovers that though.

It's a big waste of time to fight it. Once they labeled you a 'professional' that was their gateway into putting these little black boxes into your truck. Every other professional out there is mega scrutinized what makes truckers think they are so special to be trusted to run around amok setting their own standards?

Refuse to submit? Really? I'm dying to know how one would be able to refuse to submit to CSA short of quitting and finding another career path.
I guess in theory we could all pretend that we're in a union even though we're not. And then we could in theory all get together and decide that we're not going to drive until these rules we don't agree with are done away with. But there are a ton of problems with that theory. And one of the biggest problems is the fact that many of us can recall a time when air traffic controllers did just that not just in theory but in reality. And most of them didn't like it worked out for them in the end. More recently, a bunch of twinkie bakers did the same thing with much the same result.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't love EOBRs and I don't hate them. I simply accept that they are coming. And when they do, I will see what impact if any they have on my quality of life and I will then decide what my best coarse of action is if any. In the mean time, I will continue to laugh heartily at anyone says things like the day they make me use one is the day I quit and so on and so forth. I will continue to laugh at that the same I laugh when a 5 year old says he's going to run away from home because his mommy wouldn't let him eat ice cream for dinner. -
Those who are not willing to fight to protect their liberty are not worthy of it anyway.
Government is constantly whittling away at liberty, and gradually making themselves more powerful all the time. The EOBR mandate is only one little battlefield. If they don't at least encounter some resistance, what's that tell them? It tells them Americans don't give a #### about protecting themselves from government intrusion.volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
For all of you that love EOBRs, would you like an EOBR as much if you were REQUIRED to own your own EOBR and the subscription monitoring cost? I just see it as another expense as an O/O that I have to pay for yet won't be compensated any more for and does NOTHING for safety.
'olhand and volvodriver01 Thank this. -

honest men being taxed/monitored/controled
the early folks were not supermen, but regular guys who saw an evil in their midst and worked against it
the unification wasnt easy, it wasnt easy for hoffa and it wont be easy for us, but as long as we sit and whine and not try to "rally the troops" NOTHING will be done and we may as well get those high-heeled shoes, because its PIMP time
communication is always the key, whether it is whining guy on horseback screaming "the british are coming" or fellow drivers trying to drum some sense into other fellow drivers that we are all being led to slaughter via the internet
you cant make change if everyone has their heads up their butt, so the communication is the first step
and agenda is second, leadership, then action (or some other variation of that)
so dont poopoo the rights of free speech, this is what free speech is supposed to protect (not playboy and larry flynt)Tin Can Man Thanks this. -
