So I purchased some clearance-marked beef jerky tonight at the petro in New Paris, OH. Price marked as $5 and I was charged $10. I was also purchasing some other things so while I thought the total was high, I didn't figure out what exactly was wrong until I paid and got the receipt.

I saw the error, went back to the counter, showed my receipt and asked for a refund. The manager came over to the counter and asked that I fill out a huge long questionaire which included my name, address, phone number, and like 5-6 other personal questions I don't remember.

At this point I started arguing with the manager, I didn't want to give out my personal information and didn't see why I should do so since it was their mistake. The manager kept insisting and only relented after I gave my name as "John Doe" phone number 111-111-1111 with an address of 1 main street.

I got my money back, but then the manager told me the cashier would be loosing his job because I had refused to properly fill out the refund quesionairre. This then provoked a reaction from another customer who blamed me for putting another person's job in jeopardy because I refused to give out my phone number and other personal information.

I just shook my head and walked out of this stupidity-overload situation.

    1. Why would I give out my personal information when Petro makes a mistake and over-charges me?

    2. Why would you fire a cashier when the register makes a mistake and the customer refuses to fill out an invasive form?

All Petro's fault and they try to put the guilt blame on me.

    Stupid Stupid Stupid.

Cashiers have to balance to the penny against the inventory sold any day in the store. If they do not balance or make errors, then they are fired.

I never give out personal information either. And if the situation is difficult enough it would not be hard to make a decision and choose some other truckstop to do business and not return to a particular one ever again. (They would lose so much revenue from my buying and fuel from the company)

Seems like the manager confused a simple overcharge with a return. I agree that filling out a form with personal information is not needed. I’m glad to know that I’m not alone in the bad nutrition club.

You certainly don’t need to or should give them your personal information.
I would tell the other bud in customer “ if they want to save the clerks job so bad they should fill out the form with their personal information “
I’m willing to bet they would decline that offer.

I never gave that a thought a whit.

If they do like that beef jerky no wonder went crazy when we humans inudoge in the stuff.

Side note to body chopping kitty.

My arm and it's associated bones ARE NOT I repeat NOT hay carriers as body shuttles by claw and fang.
