Werner allows pets but I don't think they have APU'S.Try Butler transport.Think they're a starter company, allows pets and has APU's.Forget Butler, they require 2 yrs.Plz don't take your dog unless you do find a company that has apu's.You would be doing more harm then good.

i have 2 dogs...one weighs 9 # the other 13 #. they were on the road with me. BUT they are small enough to be able to exercise in the truck...and run and play....
get mad at me all day long.....a dog that big shouldnt be in a truck...i have seen dogs that are bigger that have been in a truck for years and can barely walk because of being cramped up and not getting enough exercise. i know how important pets are. i have had mine for 9 yrs....
dogs that big need room to run. and play, not just 15 min a day ...Chinatown Thanks this. -

All companies are required to allow you to have a "Service Dog". Get a doctor to write you a prescription for anxious distorter.
As to taking your mother.......that is why most of us left home.Chinatown and KiLLaZiLLa93 Thank this. -
SERIOUSLY SPEAKING, you may want to reconsider having your mother with you on those long road trips, especially if she is an elderly lady with health problems.Last edited: Jan 14, 2015

Dang, even Chinatown couldn't come up with a good answer, lmao... First off, where are you from?? That would help us greatly. Depending on where you live, HO Wolding from Wisconsin might give you a shot. They allow pets & riders, but only some of their trucks have APUs.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
OH, and if your think our going to write the expensive off as a tax deductions. You can't claim a poodle as a security dog. If you go that route you have to be able to prove its specially trained as a guard dog same thing with any other special needs dog that you will use to get around a company policy. Contrary to popular belief dog expenses are not a write off if you claim its a guard dog to the IRS you better be able to prove this in an audit. Plus you have no right to make a claim to force a company to allow a dog. Your at will employment laws kicks in for the company. Its one thing to be working there and need it its a whole nothing thing when you choose to go with a company that clearly states no dogs.

Thanks for the info guys some good advice here. I still haven't got much info on some companies that would meet my needs but some good info here. Also just thought I would address some things. I know a lot of people wouldn't recommend taking my mom along but we have a really good relationship as I am an only child and shes a single mom so we are used to spending a lot of time together and I don't see it being a problem at all. Also she is considering this as a new career also but she says she wants to ride with me and see how it is before she goes and gets her cdl and we would possibly team. Also I know having a dog with me in the truck won't always be easy with all the excersise and attention he needs but I am willing to give him all that cause I really hate being 100% alone, but for some reason if I have my dog I can be alone with him for any amount of time lol. He is kind of an older lazy dog around the house also other than when I take him out so I don't see a huge adjustment there. Good thing is he is still a really healthy and fit dog so getting in the truck shouldn't be a problem I don't believe. My biggest concern is if I can't find a company that allows dogs and has an apu I couldn't leave him in the truck and eat at truck stops and stuff to often except when the tempature is perfect so I don't have to idle the truck. Don't worry I would never leave my dog in a hot or freezing truck.
Chinatown Thanks this.
