Are the newer reefers as loud and make as much noise as the old ones used to, and do the new trucks have better insulated sleepers, or maybe both??
Please be considerate!

Looks like a former CR England driver48Packard Thanks this.

New ones are a pleasure....very quiet and smooth. -
...until they get a clogged fuel filter!
-
Old reefers would shake them selves apart if you stuck a potato in the exhaust, would run backwards some of the very old ones.
-
True dat!....

Except the one I'm currently pulling. Not very old, but possibly in the running for the Loudest Reefer award. Its a shame because the trailer it's on pulls like a dream. Tracks perfectly straight and doesnt pull hard. Until it goes through more drivers in my company then it will be just a dogged as the rest and STILL have an earthmoving reefer, LOL.

Unfortunately, reefers are just another part of the trailer that many drivers ignore from a maintenance standpoint....

my carrier apu is actually louder than my reefer
kirk Thanks this. -
