I have Split only once or twice but never on paper.
And since it was Shippers screw up, you should be ok anyways.

you posted this at 8:30 pm 10/9. you have 500 miles and deliver 4:30 am the 11th. So be ready to go at 6:30 am. you should be there by 5 pm. definitely no later than 6:30 pm. you'd be smart to end your trip at the reciever though. so you can choose whether to start your time before or after unloading.

need to know more about when you started today and when you drove, when on-duty, when off duty, etc... to explain options for split sleeper.

I show up several hours late to places, but the rails I haul out of are never in your favor doing container work. They moan and groan im late but they still unload me and send me on my way. Sometimes i may sit for a half hour longer than normal to get unloaded but nothings perfect.

If you are out of your 14, then you have to take 10. Only if you did not do all of your 14 could you use the split sleeper.

He's right, you're not just splitting the 11 hours driving, but the 14 as well.

Basically you can add up the times (11 and 14) before your breaks (either 2 or 8 or 8 or 2, doesn't matter which comes first) and after and they cannot add up to more than 11 or 14.

Your safety guy is incompetent. I don't know about your elogs, but mine has a Clocks button which would show what is available on the 11,14 and 70 the minute I shut down for the 8 hour sleeper. Thusly I know what I have coming back before I even go to bed.

If you used all of our 14 you need to take 10 off. You can not split this. You can not drive till you take your 10 off.
