There are still some quirks in it. Sent a pplan yesterday, pu at 1130 today and deliver 505 miles, 0500 tomorrow morning. It was not accouting for the DH miles, stop for fuel, and the traffic. It was pu in Groveport, OH and going to Plymouth, WI. Yes, I refused it. I am just know going to play around with loads like this. From my memory, when they started the new Pplan, it was supposed to have the correct information on it so that WE could plan before WE accepted. Not a COMPUTER. Please tell me even how to run a split log on that load. Keep in mind, Plymouth, near Milwaukee. So plan Indy traffic and Chicago.

Yes, things seem to have been tweaked a bit for the better.
Not much problem for .... a few days
Not since decling a totally screwed load.
Reason for decling: ' X '
Planner: 'X is not a reason, as a company driver you are required to give a reason'
Problem is, you get 2 short lines for reason.
I could have written a book, thus the 'x' out of exasperation.
I replied with the best THREE reasons in 'cryptic' to make it fit the space. LOL
..... plan removed!! Yea!
Sat for 5 hrs....
Got hit with 4 plans stacked for 2400+ miles
-
Unless I was quite sure about all of them, I'd never accept that many at once.
The way things mess up I don't even like to accept one until I'm nearly ready to deliver my current load.
4 stacked is a service failure waiting to happen, IMO. -
I called my DM and asked him what all the ACTUAL windows are,
'cause they can see 'em.
The way the plans were sent, they all actually looked good.
The REAL windows just means do-able no problem. -
I hate it when I am sent a pplan at 0630 with a pickup/LL at 0800.
Actually, it woke me up.
I was to go somewhere to get an mt, then be at the shipper by 0800.
If I left that instant I might have made it. Doubtful though, considering rush hour traffic.
But I need a couple hours in the morning to wake up. I can't just wake up and drive - safely.
Why couldn't the plan have been sent last night some time, so I could have been awake in time to be ready for it?fr8monkey and scottied67 Thank this. -
Just got sent 2 more.
The first at the terminal, delivering by 1230 220 miles away. A live unload.
The second picking up at 2330, live load, and delivering (1st stop of 3) at 0830, at least 350 miles.
Even if I could make the first delivery on time (which I couldn't), how could I possibly make it to the second on time? I'd have to take a 10 in between them.
And I would not get any sleep during that time, and then have to drive through the night. -
Computers need no sleep why do you?? Seriously though I hate when they say give you a 300 mile trip then the next pp its like the expect you to take a 10 right away after being up 7 hours then go get something at night.
-
I got a message from the planner...
Why are you turning down that load?
Then sent the pplan again.
I turned it down again with an eta of 1430.
I need time to pre-trip, get to the terminal, get the paperwork and hook up.
By that time it will be at least 1030.
So how can I get 220 miles by 1230? -
No means Yes in the world of Plus 1. Coming off 7 days of home time, took my usual little load out of there to Los Angeles area. Got perplanned on a load to MN, tcall in Denver. I read this in a rest area real quick while en route on L.A. load, needed to think about it and look at weather channel before committing. Decided No based on severe winter weather warning 1-5 inches of snow expected blah blah, what else you got? How bout Pueblo CO planner asks-- only I can't go 91 miles in 1 hour (mistakenly set my PTA exactly 10.25 hours instead of 12 like I normally do, so said No but can do at 0800 as opposed to 0600 as offered) thru rush hour morning L.A. traffic. 2 more Colorado offers picking up in various areas of L.A. but again all in the 0600 time frame which I just ignored. Next load offer- Georgia-- again with the 90 some odd miles in one hour pickup-- said No with caveat 0800 pickup (pp says 0600), plucked off my truck. Next load offer New Jersey, pick up at 1100 booyah, now we're talkin' accept no problem Yes. Get over there 1030, arrival at shipper, beep load cancelled. WTF 34 miles for nothing! So I round trip it back to Ontario TA, beep, can't read it til I get there, says, "go ahead and take the Pueblo load you accepted." Only I never accepted it, I actually said NO but can do at 0800. Evidently they sent another driver to get the load and Tcall it at the terminal then re-put it back on my truck when the other load fell thru-- as if I would still be in the mood to go that way lol.
I get the feeling they're having a hard time covering Colorado right now. I find it very interesting that the NJ load fell thru like it did. Not forced dispatch lol but if I didn't know better I would think I just got roped.Last edited: Dec 1, 2011
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
scottie, I feel for you. It sucks being jerked around, but it seems that is all Plus-1 is good for so far.
So I got a different pplan, still delivering so early I can't make it.
I had been speaking with my DM through much of this, and I called him again when this pplan came in.
He said to accept it and just get it there as soon as I could.
So I accept it and it has a delivery window until midnight.
The deal was, they wanted my to deliver that load at 1500, then pick up another at 1700 - 100 miles away. So the system was adamant about the 1500 delivery time.
But I turned down that second load. It was 900 miles going to NY, and delivered at 0700 day after tomorrow. No way I could get enough miles in after picking it up tonight, after already running almost 400 miles.
I had declined with eta's of 2000 pu and a 1300 delivery.
The planner called me on my cell and asked if he could adjust the times, could I take it.
I said, sure no problem, as long as you can use my times.
I guess he couldn't arrange it with the customer, and it was removed from me.
I probably would have been even later than that. There was no mt where I dropped my load, and the second was a live load.scottied67 Thanks this.
