That's right! Also, as time goes on and you get some distance between the incident you will see just how minor the whole thing is.
If it's an older truck it probably won't be noticed anyway. Use a rubber mallet and work on it a little then run through some muddy parking lots.
Pop,snap, darn it! Popped a cab extender!

Very early in my trucking career the step that is attached to the fuel tank struck one of those orange traffic dividers they put in the middle of the road. Yes I drifted over too far. Bent the step. I was very leery of reporting it for fear of being fired or something. needed to feed my family desperately.
Couple months later an SUV made a right turn into that same fuel tank at freeway speeds to was instantly exonerated on the spot. Very easy to blame it on the crash that wasn't my fault lol.tucker Thanks this. -
Id say you got 2 choices, 1 stop off at a ta and just pay for the fix, (either do it yourself or pay a few hundred) or call it in. "Hey boss, bad spot..... it was the extender or the nose of this O/O special petercar with more chrome than god..... i chose the exstender..."

In trucking, honesty is seldom the best policy.

Sounds like a real chicken #### company if they're gonna write you up or can you for something minor like that. I'd just patch it up myself so it looks ok and no one will probably ever notice it.
